You can tell the summer is coming to an end when you go to watch your son play his last soccer game of the season. This was Logan's first year playing and he absolutely loved it, from putting on his uniform, filling his water bottle, to warming up with the coaches, and best of all, scoring on the other team. It was hilarious to watch him after he scored, he would turn around and start to scan over the spectators to find mom and dad, give a big smile and walk off with this cute little swagger in his step....as if to say.....I know, I know, I'm good.

I love to watch my son play one of my favorite sports and it makes me get the urge to get back into the game. I haven't played since he was a few months old. Maybe one of these days I'll get the courage to sign up again.

I'm so proud of you little man and all that you've accomplished on your first soccer season. I look forward to sitting on the side lines and watching many more games, and seeing a lot more of that swagger I love so much.

Flowers for Three

I had a wonderful time getting to know these three beautiful girls yesterday evening. They look very similar but are three very different personalities. One's a little fireball, one is very calm and relaxed, and the other is content and humorous, the one thing they all have in common though is their beauty. There's no mistaking it. Your going to have your hands full mom and dad when these girls become teens. I'm sure the phone will be ringing off the hook and the boys will come knocking :)

I thought it would be a nice touch to have the girls holding flowers in a couple of the images and I guess I was right because the girls loved the idea. Only problem was they all wanted the big puffy hydrangeas, I can't blame them, those were my favorites too. Hopefully that didn't cause to much of a headache for you mom....sorry!!

Thank you, for choosing me to photograph your girls, I hope to have the pleasure of photographing them again and to be able to document the change in them over the years.

Hazy Dayz

We sure have had a lot of hot, humid, hazy summer days this year and this was definitely one of them. It was as early as 9 am and the sun and air was already blazing hot. I don't mind this type of weather at all but it really does affect our kiddies I find.

We started this session in their beautiful home and then decided to take a walk down to the park and capture some images of them in their element. I love photographing children outdoors as they are so much more at ease and almost always have smiles on their cute little faces.

I met and photographed this family a little over a year ago when Mitchell was only 3 months and hadn't seem them in the time in between so it was quite a shock to see the little man running around and the growth that had taken place in Jayden was incredible over this time. It amazes me how much children change in such a short period of time, especially within the first year of their lives.

I hope to document the growth of these two adorable kiddies in the years to come for mom and dad to look back on and cherish.

Ten Days

After all the newborns I've photographed it still amazes me to hold a 10 day old newborn baby and be able to pose and mold them the way I do. They are like putty in my hands.

Kyera arrived to the session awake and extremely content so we went with the flow. I captured a couple images of her awake and then moved on to those sleepy shots.

What a sweet heart Kyera is. She looked so adorable in the flower headbands that I couldn't resist putting them on her for almost every setup I did. Mom loved them too so it worked out perfectly.

I just love the sweet pout of Kyera's lips, it shows just how relaxed she was. Thank you Diana for spending the morning with me, I enjoyed getting to know you and your sweet baby girl.

the BIG day

Just this past Saturday I had the absolute pleasure of photographing this beautiful couple as they became Mr. & Mrs.

I've know the bride for quite a few years and she is a great friend of mine. I was so honored when she chose me to photograph this special day for her and her handsome groom. Don't they make sure an adorable couple. I personally think they would create beautiful children (wink wink)

I typically don't photograph weddings but when she asked I just couldn't resist, and I'm so happy that I did. It got a little hard snapping images while the 2 of them exchanged their vows as my eyes were wet with tears of happiness.

Jennifer and Peter, the two of you make a terrific match and a beautiful couple. I look forward to watching you grow old with one another over the years.

Ain't she sweet

Meet Sherry.........isn't she gorgeous. Sherry and I have been friends for many, many years. I was thrilled to be asked to photograph her beautiful baby bump for her second child. I think it's so important to capture this wonderful time in your life, and change in your body. Sherry is a fitness instructor (hence the yoga poses) and has stayed so fit while growing this little peanut, way to go girl, you look absolutely stunning.

We started the session in studio and captured some great images of mommy, bump, and little man Ashton. We then went to the great outdoors and found some greatness in this beautiful field. I just love the outdoors and feel so in my element when I get the chance to photograph there.

Six Days New

Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE my job??!!? I feel so blessed that I get to share in the first few days of a new child's life. I just melt when my clients walk through the door with their new little bundle. One of my favorite parts of the session is cuddling with the newborn and sending them off into that sweet slumber. It's even that much more special when the child comes from a friend from the past.

Me and this little babes daddy went to high school together and hadn't seen one another in 6 years. We were quite the trouble making duo back in the day. It was so wonderful to see him again after so much time had passed and finally meet his two beautiful children and gorgeous wife. His daughter is his little twin, there isn't much else sweeter then a daddy's little girl, especially when she looks just like him.

I had a wonderful time getting to know you Michelle, and it was oh so great to see you again Mike. You have a lovely little family that I hope to be able to photograph in the years to come and get to know your children much better.

Time

I can't believe how fast time passes and how much happens in a baby's first year of life. My daughter is now 7 months and she already seems so independent. It was only a couple of short months ago that she needed me to do absolutely everything for her, now, she falls asleep on her own, snacks on her own, and even sits on her own. It is so amazing to watch a child grow and change and have a personality, I only wish it would slow down just a little.

Times Two

Boy oh Boy twins can be quite hard to capture. Everything is times two. Changing outfits X 2, getting a little giggle X 2, getting them comfortable X 2, I definitely had my work cut out for me.

This shoot was an absolute whirlwind. I had got some pretty balloons to use in the field and the second we set them down, the wind took up, and all the balloons popped on the surrounding twigs :( so there went that idea. We didn't really need them it was just to bring a little more colour to the photos so we made do without. Just as we were wrapping up at the first field a big machine came along and started chopping down all the pretty purple flowers, so there goes that location for another shoot.

We then moved on to what's becoming my favorite field, it is so dreamy and peaceful there. The girls seemed to like this place better then the first as well. We were having a fantastic shoot until suddenly I'm looking through the lens and my vision starts failing me. This is a sign that a migraine is setting in for me. We had just dressed the girls in their tu tu's and weren't able to get a single image of them in that set up :(

We then had to call my husband to come and pick us up, there was no way I was going to attempt driving home when I only had partial vision.

I am determined to get those girls in those tu tu's again and capture some images for mom and dad. It will happen.

Field of Dreams

Yesterday I took my sweety pies out to a field close to our home. I was originally just going to photograph Logan to remember the special day, he graduated from Preschool (for a 2nd time) but couldn't resist getting Lolita in her tutu and snapping a few of her as well.

We had to move quickly because the mosquitos were out and they were mighty hungry, I think Logan must have said "I'm itchy" about 50 times in a matter of 10 minutes. I could have spent hours out there capturing my babies but we only lasted about 30 min.

What a beautiful little girl Rylee is, wouldn't you agree!! She was an absolute pleasure to photograph and was so full of smiles and funny little grunts. Stephan came to me through a referral that I was greatly appreciative of. Roxane (Stephan's grandmother) and I went to photography school together and when her Grandson was born she referred her daughter to me. I was so honored that a fellow photographer asked me to capture this wonderful time in their lives. Thank you Roxane for your support.

Stephan arrived to the session wide awake but very calm and content, so we went with it. After a few images of Stephan awake it was quite hard to mold him into the little curled up poses that we all love, so we went to work at getting Stephan to sleep. Once he was "down for the count" he was like putty in our hands.

I had a wonderful time getting to know you and your little man Genevieve.

Cuba Si ??!!??

So, we've returned from our family vacation, and it's been about 3 weeks now so I'm a little late on this post but of course had to get all the images organized from our amazing adventure. We went to Varadaro Cuba for a 1 week all inclusive vacation. It was very relaxing and a great time for our family to reconnect with no distractions. We decided to rent a car while we where there and travelled to Havana. I'm so happy that we did. It was amazing to see the old architecture there and of course a lot of fun for me to photograph the locals.

I figured I would share some images from our adventure, so you can take a little trip through my eyes :)

I had my cousins beautiful kiddies over yesterday for a shoot. I plan on using these images in a new album that will soon be offered to my clients. Julia Scarlet is the daughter of a very very close friend of mine. They came by the other day with the intention of going on a nice walk because the weather was amazing, well one thing led to another and after showing mom my new backdrops and props we ended up doing a mini session. I'm so happy that we did because I absolutely love these images.

Our little Lolita

Introducing the beautiful baby girl.........Tessa. Isn't she just lovely! I couldn't get over the amount of thick, full, brown hair this little beauty has. How fun it's going to be for mom and dad to put fun little clips in her hair :)

I had such a wonderful time photographing Tessa, she is every photographers dream. When we started she was awake and very very content, she just stayed in her positioning very calmly and stared right down the center of the lens, pretty incredible for such a brand new baby. It was so wonderful to finally meet you baby girl.

Heaven Sent

I am proud to announce that our second child has finally entered this beautiful world. She was born on December 7th and arrived very quickly. We have named her Lolita Lynda after my mother who passed a few years ago.

So it's been a while since I've posted on my blog, but there is a good reason for this :)

My husband and I are expecting our second child. I am currently 33 weeks along in my pregnancy. We're all very excited to meet this newest edition to our family.

Being that I'm so far along it is now getting quite hard to photograph your little ones. I will be taking some time off of work to enjoy our new baby.

I am taking very limited sessions at this time and once the baby arrives I will not be taking any new clients for 3 months.

Those of you that are expecting within this time frame feel free to contact me and I can refer you to some other great photographers that are within the area.

Follow up on Twins

So, I returned to photograph the twins and was hoping to get the 2 of them together this time around, however, the girls had a different plan in mind. They were on completely different schedules and when one was sleeping the other was awake. In the end I focused mostly on Lilianna this time around as last time was all about Gabriella.

I just had to include this last image on the blog as it was hilarious. Those are dad's hands holding up Lili and just as he held her over his head she decided to take a little pee, ha ha ha, sorry Dad but it's just to funny not to share.

Twins have arrived

I just had my first opportunity to photograph twins and boy what a challenge it was. Gabriella was a perfect little model and slept through the entire session. Lilianna on the other hand didn't close those beautiful eyes for one moment.

Raspberry Picking at Hutchinson Farm

I spent the afternoon on Sunday, raspberry picking with my family. What a great day it was. The weather was a little iffy, looked like it was going to rain off and on throughout the day but it never did come which was great news for us.

Thought I would share a couple of images from our day. Some of those raspberry's were absolutely HUGE, the pictures just don't do it any justice though, you'll have to go and check it out for yourself, but hurry, raspberry season is almost over.

I just couldn't resist to post some pictures of this little guy. He's a friend's son and he is so adorable, I just love love love blue eyes as I'm sure you all know by now :) I took these pictures on Father's Day when we had a little get together in our backyard. It got a little to warm out for the little one's so the spraying water from the kiddies pool cooled them off quite nicely.

Pier 4 Park

Yesterday I met a wonderful, fun-loving family that decided to have their session done at Pier 4 Park. What a beautiful location it was, right on the water, and a huge tug boat for the girls to play on. It was quite windy but I think the girls look great with the wind in their hair, it kind of suits their personalities.

8 days new

I got the pleasure of meeting this little guy just 8 days after he was born, how amazing is that!!! He is a sweet sweet baby, with a very shy older brother :) Noah was quite content to sit and watch as I took pictures of him....so content that he didn't want to go to sleep. We tried a couple times to get him to dose off but only managed to get about 5 minutes of shut eye.

What I love so much about these images are the story behind it. My son and the little girl in the car have never met before, he offered her a ride in the car and they suddenly became best buds, and were so darn cute to watch.

I wish we could bring this kind of friendliness into our adulthood but it just doesn't happen that easily. Sadly enough we put up more guards the older we get.

I'm working on building my newborn portfolio and have a few ideas that I am anxious to try out. In order to accomplish my ideas I need a newborn that is within 5-7 days of life.

Here's the scoop:

There will be no charge for the session and you are not obligated to purchase any prints however the option is there if you would like to.

So with that being said, if you know anyone who is expecting please pass this along, or if you are expecting please contact me asap so we can set a date.
